WHAT IS THE VISION COACH?

The VISION COACH is a large interactive light board measuring 50" x 34”, specifically designed to meet the numerous rehabilitation needs for a wide variety of clients.


HOW IS IT USED?

Programming is done by depressing options on the lower right corner of the display. An alphanumeric LED window is positioned in the upper right corner showing program options, times and scores. These are visible only during the programming of and at the end of each trial to ensure there are no visual distractions during use.

Individual program options are endless with the ability to incorporate up to 120 lights, 11 Distinctive Visual Fields, 12 Speed Settings, a Fixator Light, Letters and Numbers, Red, Green, or Red and Green Lights and Red/Blue Goggles used for Bi-ocular Assessment and Enhancement.

The individual positions' facing the VISION COACH display at eye level and reacts to the lights as they appear by depressing each light as quickly as it is seen or by responding to the light with a verbal response.


DO I NEED A COMPUTER TO RUN THE VISION COACH?

No. The VISION COACH is self-contained, just plug into an outlet and you are ready to start!


IS THE VISION COACH DISPLAY A TOUCH SCREEN?

No. The VISION COACH display is not a touch screen.  The display has a one of a kind membrane which offers tactile feedback with the depression of each light.  For those with physical limitations unable to depress the lights with a finger, use of a knuckle, pressure point of the hand or apparatus attached to the arm may be used.  Additionally, elbows, knees, toes or heels can be used to depress the lights.  For those unable to respond physically, visual recognition with verbal response is possible.


Does the VISION COACH offer accurate reaction times?

Yes, in fact the VISION COACH is the only interactive light board able to capture and record accurate reaction times. This is due to the one of a kind membrane and that the VISION COACH is self-contained.  All others run on Windows based software which does not and cannot run in real time or produce accurate timing.


WHAT IS THE WALL MOUNTED COUNTER WEIGHT SLIDER?

The VISION COACH display attaches to the slider providing height adjustment from floor to ceiling making it ADA compliant for all users.  The sleek design allows for wheelchairs to position closely to the display for ease of use and offers stability for the user if held onto for balance.  The entire VISION COACH unit sits less than 3” off the wall accommodating for small spaces.

 

ARE SPECIFIC LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS NEEDED FOR USE?

No, the matte membrane offers no visual glare allowing the user to operate in a fully lit, ambient or dark room.

 

WHY ARE THERE LETTERS AND NUMBERS ON THE DISPLAY?

Within the 120 lights available for programming 80 lights have letters or numbers silk-screened from behind. These have been positioned for the use of cognitive training and/or up-loading of any trial programmed. The letters and numbers include a full set of upper case letters, a full set of lower case letters and three sets of the numbers 1-9.

 

WHEN WORKING ON A PROGRAM WILL IT TIME OUT?

No, the VISION COACH can be programmed at speed “zero”. When speed zero is programmed the trial will not end until the subject has depressed all the lights programmed or until the clinician makes the decision to end the trial. Speed zero allows the user to be successful offering a sense of completion and positive self-esteem. With multiple settings offered, trials may be set to an appropriate level to challenge the user yet accomplish the goal set forth. 

 

HOW DO I CLEAN THE SURFACE OF THE DISPLAY?

The VISION COACH membrane can be sanitized after each use with Cavicide, gym or non-bleach cleaning wipes.

 

IS THERE A WARRANTY?

Yes, the VISION COACH Interactive Light Board comes with a one year manufacturer parts and labor warranty.  In addition to the warranty PERCEPTUAL TESTING, INC., manufacturer of the VISION COACH guarantees customer satisfaction. If the VISION COACH display is in need of repair a loaner display will be sent out for use until your display is repaired and returned. This ensures the protocol of treatment to be uninterrupted.

 

IS THE VISION COACH REGISTERED WITH THE FDA?

The VISION COACH is registered with the FDA as a Class One Medical Device, 510k Exempt, meets CE/UL mark requirements and complies with EMC limits for a Medical Device Directive. It has been tested by a certifying body and meets all safety standards required for this device. PERCEPTUAL TESTING, INC. is registered with thr FDA as a Good Manufacturing Practice.
