THE VISION COACH PLAYS AN IMPORTAMANT ROLE IN TACTICAL TRAINING FOR MILITARY AND POLICE

Marksmanship is one of the most important skills taught to Military and Police Professionals. Whether it be pistol or rifle; concentration, basic marksmanship, sight alignment, and sight picture is taught.

THE VISION COACH IS EMPLOYED TO EVALUATE:

  • A WARRIOR’S FUTURE PERFORMANCE
  • REVEAL AREAS OF WEAKNESS
  • MEASURE THE WARRIORS PROGRESS
  • ENABLE LEADERS TO EVALUATE COMBAT REACTION TIME
  • EVALUATE MARKSMANSHIP IMPROVEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS
  • IDENTIFY APPROPRIATE TRAINING TRACKS FOR MILITARY AND POLICE MEMBERS

VISION IS THE PROCESS OF UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS SEEN
BY THE EYES

Close quarters combat situations are currently taking place in and throughout the battlefields in Afghanistan. Our Military Professionals are entering potentially dangerous buildings and conducting assaults on target objectives. This can include hand-to-hand combat, utilizing self-defense techniques for disarming or taking an assailant to the ground before the situation escalates. Similar situations occur on a daily basis in various cities and towns throughout the United States for our nation’s Police Forces.

When a Military service member or Police professional risks their life while entering a building or each room within a building, assessment and response is critical, and may mean the difference between life and death. It is vital for the tactical member to prepare the visual system for efficiency.

The VISION COACH promotes and enhances dynamic skills critical for Military and Police Professionals

The ability to use visual information perceived from over a large area

CENTRAL-PHERIPHERAL INTEGRATION
The ability to monitor and interpret what is happening around you while attending to a central, specific task

SPEED AND SPAN OF RECOGNITION
The speed with which your brain interprets, identifies, and reacts during a brief exposure

ANTICIPATION AND VISUAL REACTION TIME
The ability to reduce time to detect, decide and respond to visual stimuli

SELECTIVE ATTENTION

The VISION COACH is utilized for the evaluation and enhancement of dynamic skills related directly to job specific performance. The multiple program options allow assessment of performance, reveal areas of weakness, measure progress, and evaluate appropriate tracks of training.

BASELINE TESTING

Numerous testing can be done with the VISION COACH to develop a baseline of performance for the Military or Police member. This information can be useful for identifying appropriate training tracks but is most certainly vital to document in case of injury. Exclusive features to the unit allow for a baseline which is second to none. With use of the red/blue goggles and the red and green lights, the binocular system, or eye-teaming ability can be assessed and documented. The fixator light can be operated to evaluate a shoot, don’t shoot response, and letters and numbers located on 80 of the 120 lights can be utilized to upload any program with cognitive processing while contending with the task at hand.

POST-CONCUSSION REHABILITATION

The VISION COACH offers multiple features to aide in the evaluation and rehabilitation post-concussion and/or injury. With NO VISUAL CUES a true assessment of the individual’s abilities can be determined. The CENTRAL FIXATOR can be programed on, off or active to evaluate selective attention and the ability to contend with central-peripheral stimuli. 7 LIGHT SETTINGS offer up to 120 LIGHTS for the assessment of sustained attention, along with 12 SPEED OPTIONS for testing endurance and stamina, and visual-motor speed of recognition and reaction time. The 11 DISTINCTIVE VISUAL FIELDS aide in determining visual field loss, and LETTERS AND NUMBERS help to determine problem solving skills and cognition. With use of the RED/BLUE SPORTS GOGGLES, with RED AND GREEN LIGHTS programed, binocularity can be evaluated. The WALL MOUNTED COUNTER WEIGHT SLIDER allows the display to be lowered to an appropriate level for use with a wheelchair, and the LARGE WORKING SURFACE accommodates rehabilitating upper body range of motion. COLOR PRINT OUTS give an uncomplicated visual read for information on speed, hits, missed hits, reaction times and potential visual field loss.
