WHAT IS THE VISION COACH AND HOW IS IT USED?

The VISION COACH is a large interactive light board measuring 50" x 34" and has been specifically designed to meet the numerous rehabilitation needs of a wide variety of clients. To use the VISION COACH the individual positions' facing the display at eye level, and reacts to the lights as they appear in a random series by depressing each light as quickly as it is seen, or by responding to the light with verbal recognition. All programming is done on the face of the display on the lower right corner. An alphanumeric LED window is positioned in the upper right corner to show program options, times, scores, and late scores. These are visible only during the programming of, and at the end of each trial to ensure there are no visual distractions during use. Individual program options are endless with the ability to incorporate a Fixator Light, 11 Distinctive Visual Fields, 12 Speed Settings, 7 Different Light Settings with 120 Lights, Letters and Numbers, Red, Green, or Red and Green Lights, and Red/Blue Goggles used for Binocularity Assessment and Enhancement. At the completion of the trial, and after 5 minutes of non-use, the VISION COACH powers down into sleep mode until it is ready to use again.

DO I NEED A COMPUTER TO RUN THE VISION COACH?

No, the VISION COACH is self-contained. Microprocessors and Software are within; no external connections are required to run the unit other than a small power supply.

CAN THE VISION COACH BE USED WITH TABLETS?

Yes, the VISION COACH is Wi-Fi compatible with PC's, Tablets and Printers for detailed data collection. However, a computer is not required to run the unit.

IS THE VISION COACH DISPLAY A TOUCH SCREEN?

No, the VISION COACH is not a touch screen unit. Meticulous detail was taken when developing the pressure needed to depress each light. Unlike some units, use of the whole hand or swiping of the hand, the VISION COACH requires accuracy and a slight depression to turn off each light. This accuracy and depression offers the user a tactile feel, an auditory tone, and visual feedback, all resulting in the precision of eye-hand-body coordination. The VISION COACH may also be used by those with physical limitations with use of the finger/knuckle, parts of the palm, back of the hand, or with an apparatus attached to the hand. It is additionally available to those who may not be able to physically touch the display with use of visual recognition and verbal reaction.

HOW DO I CLEAN THE SURFACE OF THE BOARD?

The VISION COACH membrane, or surface of the display, may be sanitized after each use for nosocomial resistance to super bugs, with the use of Cavicide or non-bleach cleaning wipes. Allow to air dry. A clean damp cloth may be used to remove any residue which may build up over time.

WHAT IS THE COUNTER WEIGHT WALL MOUNTED SLIDER?

The Counter Weight Wall Mounted Slider is what the VISION COACH display is attached to. This slider allows the user to effortlessly position the display to various height positions, from floor to ceiling ensuring availability to all users, making it ADA compliant. Due to the sleek design of the slider, wheelchairs may be brought closely to the display for ease of use. This slider also offers stability for the user and will not detach from the wall if held on to for balance. There are no electrical components to breakdown within; it is easily installed onto any standard 8’ wall of wood, stucco, concrete or metal. When installed, the entire unit sits just 3” off the wall.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS NEEDED FOR USE?

No, there are no special lighting requirements to use the VISION COACH. The matte membrane allows the user to operate in a fully lit room, ambient lighting, or a dark room.

WHY ARE THERE LETTERS AND NUMBERS ON THE DISPLAY?

Within the possible 120 lights available for programming, 80 lights have letters or numbers. These have been positioned for the use of cognitive training and/or up-loading of any trial programmed. These letters and numbers include a full set of upper case letters, a full set of lower case letters, and three sets of the numbers 1-9. They cannot be felt as they are silk-screened from behind, and cannot be seen until lit.

WHEN WORKING ON A PROGRAM, WILL IT TIME OUT?

No, as the VISION COACH can be programmed with a speed “zero”. When speed zero is programmed, the trial will not end until the subject has depressed all the lights programmed, or until the therapist makes the decision to end the trial. Speed zero allows the user to be successful offering a sense of completion and positive self-esteem. With the multiple settings offered, trials may be set to an appropriate level where as to challenge the user yet, to accomplish the goal set forth.

IS THERE A WARRANTY?

Yes, a 1 year manufacturer parts and labor warranty is standard with the purchase of your VISION COACH. PERCEPTUAL TESTING, INC., otherwise known as PTI, does not offer extended warranties standing behind its product. PTI is registered with the FDA as a Good Manufacturing Practice. This registration requires PTI to have all replacement parts available for customer service and repair. In addition to the warranty, PTI guarantees customer satisfaction. If your unit is in need of repair, a loaner unit will be sent out for use until your unit is repaired and returned. This ensures the protocol of therapy to be uninterrupted. The VISION COACH is a high reliability device. Each embedded LED has a 14,000 hour life span meaning no light bulbs to change; the membrane-face of the display, a 15 year life span. The VISION COACH is a solid state unit, manufactured and serviced in the USA!

IS THERE FDA REGISTRATION?

Yes, the VISION COACH is registered with the FDA as a Class 1 Medical Device, 510K Exempt. PERCEPTUAL TESTING, INC. is registered with the FDA to manufacture the VISION COACH and meets FDA Good Manufacturing Practice and FDA requirements for quality control during manufacturing. In addition, meets CE/UL mark requirements, and complies with EMC limits for a Medical Device Directive. It has been tested by a certifying body and meets all safety standards required for this device.
